How does pull printing with an RFID badge work in a hospital?

A doctor, nurse, or administrative staff member sends a document (prescription, lab order, hospital discharge summary) from any workstation, tablet, or cell phone. The document is encrypted and placed in a queue until the user authenticates at the nearest printer by holding their RFID badge up to the TCM4 reader. No documents containing patient data are left on the tray, and there is no unauthorized access to clinical information.

What Is an Identity Watermark, and Why Does It Matter in Healthcare?

Each printed page bears a discreet stamp showing the name of the user who printed it, the date, the time, and the printing station. If a page containing patient data ends up outside the hospital, it is possible to immediately trace who printed it and when.
